Noob question- PvE vs. PvP characters
Okay so when a PvE character goes to PvP, can you only use items you've found in PvE? Or can you still unlock stuff and use stuff you've unlocked with Balthazar faction?
Basically I'm wondering if once a PvE character is level 20 it is better in every way than a PvP character, or if you still actually have to do PvE stuff to enable yourself to PvP. |

No, PvE characters can NOT use PvP unlocks.

Because of this, there are only a few, extremely minor functional benefits to using a PvE character, such as different damage type weapons. A PvP character then, is essentially better than a PvE character because it has access to everything you've unlocked for free and whenever you want. |

The one benefit, though, that you can get from being a PvE that does PvP (non-elite skills) is that if you unlock it with Balthazar faction, you can then purchase that skill at the skill trader in a town of that continent. For example, you could unlock a skill like Mystic Regeneration for a Dervish, which normally you have to wait till Gate of Torment to buy, and have it early on.

But as a PvE char, you can have weapons with +19% damage vs Plants!! In your Face PVP Chars!!! But on a real note, you can have ascended armor, which is something that no PvP char can have, although its puely cosmetical. |
